Velveteen Rabbit Productions takes its name from the classic children's tale, The Velveteen Rabbit, by Margery Williams. At one point in the story, the boy's nanny can't believe how much fuss he's raising over a "silly toy".
To which the boy replies, "He isn't a toy! He's real!" I firmly believe this is the effect a good story should have--that the story's events should feel as if they are happening only one door over; that the characters live right down the street; and therefore, a good story is "real". Even if the events are happening only inside the audience's mind or upon the page, the magic of storytelling is making fiction feel real. That is what I hope to accomplish with my storytelling.
